As of Saturday 5/14 we are still in Ft. Meyers. Using the time to continue to provision and learn the boat, so not a waste of time. It does mean we are running "late" for a full Loop this year. No Worries. The latest, and hopefully final immediate issue-need an alternator rebuild. That should be complete Monday with a departure east for Tuesday. What has been done to the boat? There are two lists. One the mandatory repairs based on survey. That list was long and increased but I did a lot of the work myself. It included: New master cabin A/C New refrigerator. Hi Captain! The Reliv vids are really cool to watch!!
ReplyDeleteHey Captain Jim, At night to you always tie up to a pier, or do you have to drop anchor in open water on some nights? And are you getting off The Dawn Watch much to see local sights.. or are you avoiding stops to get north as soon as you can?
ReplyDeleteHey Murph. We alternate. Sometimes we anchor. Last night we anchored and a wicked cool lightening and rain storm came through. New anchor held excellently. The other day we spent 4 nights at a marina. 3 planned to host some visiting family of Dawn's. Extended a day to work on my air conditioners. A couple days ago we were on what is called a mooring ball. Like anchoring but secure. Payed the local marina for the privilege $20/night. Today going to a marina for fuel, laundry, walk around and eat out at Belhaven NC.
DeleteWe are pushing north fast to try to get to NYC by 7/11. Hoping Sarah and Zach G will visit.
Then on up to Maine and then back south in fall.
